Cell Phone Chargers

The most popular form of charger available for smart phones such as the Motorola Atrix, the HTC Thunderbolt, and the HTC Inspire is the trusty AC wall charger. Within a few hours you will have a fully charged phone that is ready to go. One of the downsides to this type of charger is that you can only use it where ever you have an AC outlet.

A car charger is probably the second most popular charger but that does not mean that it is not important. This is the go to charger for people interested in talking endlessly on their phones while on the road. A mobile phone cannot work without a charger. This is the reason that now a lot of attention is being paid to cell phone chargers. A simple charger works by supplying a constant or DC pulsed DC power source to a battery being charged. The simple charger does not alter its output based on time or the charge on the battery. This simplicity means that a simple charger is inexpensive, but there is a tradeoff in quality. Typically, a simple charger takes longer to charge a battery to prevent severe over-charging. Even so, a battery left in a simple charger for too long will be weakened or destroyed due to over-charging. These chargers can supply either a constant voltage or a constant current to the battery. A DC charger, also known as a car charger, allows you to travel anywhere and go wherever you want without having to worry about your phone dying out of charge.

A third popular form of charger that you can pick up for smart phones such as the Atrix, Thunderbolt, or inspire is the laptop USB powered charger. Users of publicly accessible charging kiosks must be able to cross-reference connectors with device brands/models and individual charge parameters and thus ensure delivery of the correct charge for their mobile device. A database-driven system is one solution, and is being incorporated into some designs of charging kiosks.

Mobile phones can usually accept a relatively wide range of voltages, as long as it is sufficiently above the phone battery's voltage. However, if the voltage is too high, it can damage the phone. Mostly, the voltage is 5 volts or slightly higher, but it can sometimes vary up to 12 volts when the power source is not loaded. Not only will this accessory keep your phone charged but you will also be able to synchronize your PC and your phone, allowing you to transfer data from one to the other. Every time you purchase a Charger you should look in to the specifications to make sure that it is compatible with your device.

All the major handset makers, including LG, Motorola, Nokia, and Samsung have agreed to use the micro-USB technology as the common universal charging interface, in future most cell phones will use the same kind of connector to charge their batteries. Non-standard phone chargers are one of the most annoying things of cell phones.

The lifecycle of a cell phone is usually two years. That's when the contract ends and a new cell phone is offered as an incentive to stay with the cell phone provider for another two year period. Cell phone suppliers like Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Apple, Motorola and LG have agreed to produce cell phones that are compatible with standard charging devices in Europe.
